Thank you all so much for your support of the St. Anthony School car raffle. It is heartwarming to know that our Parishioners are with us in supporting Catholic education in the northwest corner. Congratulations to our 1st place prize winner, Mr. Jonathan Briggs, who won the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid. Mrs. Martha Chamberlain, won the 2nd place prize of a $1,500 American Express gift card, and the 3rd place prize of a $1,000 gift card to Winsted Super Saver was won by Mrs. Ella Schmidt. All 999 raffle tickets were sold out by Friday, a day before the drawing, resulting in a profit of $22,000 all of which will go to support St. Anthony School in our effort to keep tuition affordable for our families. Thank you and may God bless you all.
St. Anthony School Advancement
Folk Group Thank You to St. Joseph Parishioners:
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” These words from the book of Ecclesiastes seem fitting, as the St. Joseph Folk Choir ends its ministry at St. Joseph Church. In September, 1973, at the invitation of Father Alexius Mulrenan, O.F.M. and Sister Ann Brousseau, D.H.M. four teenagers* began to provide music for worship at Sunday Mass. During the last 40 plus years, over 90 members of our parish can look back with fond memories at having shared in this important ministry.
Mathew Arnold writes; “We become what we sing. What we sing, over time, we come to remember. What we remember, over time, we come to believe. What we believe over time, we come to live.” As we look to the future, may the Lord help us to carry these words with us, to remember them, to believe them, and to live them!
Thank you to the parishioners of St. Joseph Parish, who have walked this journey of faith with us. With humble hearts, deep gratitude, and much love,
Patty Cerruto, Cynthia Serafini, Suzanne Waldron, Michael Fixer, Joan Harvey, Jessica Stenman, and Annette Sabia.
