Did you know...
January 22nd is the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion at any time during the nine months of pregnancy. This infamous ruling occurred 45 years ago, and some states have put minor restrictions on the practice of abortion. Studies indicate that over 60 million pre- born children have been legally aborted since 1973. On average 3000 pre-born babies are aborted each day in the U.S.A.
Have you ever looked around and wondered, “Where have all the children gone?” Sadly, our country permits a “medical procedure” that kills one patient and leaves one or more wounded. The truth is that pre-born humans die in abortion and women are hurt by abortion. Men are hurt by abortion. Families are hurt by abortion. Our country is hurt by abortion.
It is time to stop this atrocity in our country. It is time to see abortion as UNTHINKABLE. It is time to embrace the gift of new life, to support women and men, friends, family members, or co-workers and anyone in a crisis pregnancy. It is time to reclaim the virtues of chastity, purity and respect for all human life.
Come to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on January 19th and pray in solidarity with the thousands upon thousands of Americans who will be in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life. Consider spending an hour of your morning with our Blessed Lord. Pray that He, who came to us as a baby at Christmas, will end abortion in our country and will give us hearts like His. If you can’t be in church from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on the 19th, please pray at home or at work or wherever you will be, that abortion will no longer even be considered an option. Pray that pre-born children will be safe in our country. “Behold the inheritance of the Lord are children, the reward, the fruit of the womb.” Psalm 127:3
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
8:30am – 10:30 a.m., January 19, 2018 in the St. John Paul II Chapel

According to the Center for Disease Control website, individual states are not required to report the number of abortions done in the state. In 2014 the CDC reported 653,639 legal induced abortions from 49 reporting areas. California, Maryland and New Hampshire do not report to the CDC. According to the Guttmacher Institute, which contacts abortion facilities directly, there were
926,200 legal abortions in the U.S. in 2014. This number does not include pre- born lives destroyed with abortifacients such as IUD’s, emergency contraceptives (ie. Plan B or Ella) as well as some birth control pills (ie. Yaz, Yasmin).
Did you know...
Only 37 states require any parental involvement (not necessarily consent) before a minor child obtains a surgical abortion. Connecticut law does not require parents to be informed if their minor daughter seeks and has a surgical abortion, a very invasive procedure. Yet, in Connecticut, a minor 14-18 years old is required by law to have written parental consent for any body piercing.
According to the Guttmacher Institute, in 2014 17% of abortion patients identified themselves as mainline Protestant, 13% as Evangelical Protestant, 24% as Catholic, 38% as no affiliation and 8% as other affiliation.
A sign of hope....the number of abortion providers in the United States has decreased from 2,918 providers in 1982 to 1,671 in 2014.
Please continue to pray for an end to abortion.
Please work to make abortion unthinkable.
